Safeway Community Giving Card

Earn funds for Pura Vida every time you shop for groceries and gas at Albertsons or Safeway. There is no cost to you –– no hidden fees.

How can I participate?
  • Get a Safeway Community Giving Card from Pura Vida
  • Participants in the program load and reload (up to $500) at store's customer service desk or at check-out
  • Use and reuse the card as needed to buy groceries at Albertsons or Safeway stores*
  • Pura Vida earns 5% of the amount you spend

​Pura Vida has cards available at no cost. Help us by purchasing your regular grocery items and gas at Albertsons or Safeway and using the Pura Vida Safeway Community Giving Card. Additional or replacement cards must be provided by Pura Vida to benefit their programs.

How to use your card

Cards are accepted at Safeway and Albertsons locations in Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, South Dakota and New Mexico to purchase groceries, and, if available, gasoline.

To load or re-load your card:
  1. Cards may be loaded at either the Customer Service desk or at the register during checkout
  2. Tell the cashier that you want to load funds to a Giving Card
  3. Swipe the Giving Card in the credit card reader
  4. Specify amount to be added (up to $500)
  5. Pay with credit card, cash, or check

To pay for groceries or gas using the card:
  1. Once your items have been scanned, swipe the Giving Card in the credit card reader
  2. A receipt should be provided with the card balance
  3. If your purchases exceed the card balance, you can use a another payment method to make up the difference at the register
*  Safeway Community Giving cards work only in Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, South Dakota and New Mexico.
