Preparing for a Work Trip to Kenya

Conditions are fairly basic, and even simple things can be quite difficult and frustrating. Be prepared to be flexible! Patience is a virtue here. Hotels in Nairobi are basic, but do provide flush toilets and often hot showers. Potable water will be provided for the team at the hotel and work sites.

Other important considerations:
  • Make sure you have a valid passport (one that won't expire within 6 months).
  • Immunizations for Tetanus, Typhoid, Yellow Fever, and Hepatitis A are highly recommended.
  • Malaria medication is a must! (more info).
  • Bring US dollars (travellers checks not recommended).
  • Pack enough in your carry-on so you can survive a few days without your checked luggage.
