Guatemala Work Trip - April, 2012
(Washington Park UMC, Denver, CO)

The group size for this trip will be 15 - 25 people. We will be working with local people to build classrooms for a new school in Caserio Rosario, Lemoa. We will also be spending time in activities with village children. Prior construction experience is not essential.

Schedule (April 13 - 22, 2012)

Friday Apr. 13 - Fly to Guatemala City
- Drive to Antigua
- Check into lodging
Saturday Apr. 14

- Drive to Chichicastenango (~5 hours)
- Check into hotel
- Visit Maryknoll Sisters
- Visit orphanage

Sunday Apr. 15 - Free time at the market in Chichicastenango
- Attend evening church services
Monday Apr. 16 - Work day
Tuesday Apr. 17

- Work day

Wednesday Apr. 18 - Work day
Thursday Apr. 19 - Work day
Friday Apr. 20 - Work day
Saturday Apr. 21 - Drive to Antigua (~4 hours)
- Check into hotel
- Free time in Antigua
Sunday Apr. 22 - Shuttle to airport (~1 hour)
- Fly home

Cost

The total cost for this trip is estimated at $1,700 per person; the final amount will depend on group size and ticketed airfare. This amount will include group airfare, ground transportation, lodging, and most meals during the trip. Here is a breakdown of what is covered:
